New Delhi, August 28, 2026: India and Kuwait held the inaugural meeting of the India-Kuwait Joint Defence Committee (JDC) in New Delhi on Friday, marking a significant step towards strengthening bilateral defence cooperation.
The meeting was co-chaired by Joint Secretary Amitabh Prasad from the Indian side, while Brigadier General Raed Alsakran led the Kuwaiti delegation.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to further enhance bilateral defence ties across a wide range of areas, including military training, joint military exercises, military medicine, staff talks, defence industry, and research and development (R&D).
The Joint Defence Committee is expected to provide an important platform for regular dialogue and cooperation between the armed forces of India and Kuwait, contributing to stronger defence relations between the two countries.
