Srinagar, August 21: Director General of Police (DGP) Prabhat Kumar has directed officers and field officials to ensure that the upcoming Kounsarnag Yatra is conducted smoothly, safely and in a well-coordinated manner.

During a review of arrangements for the pilgrimage, the DGP stressed the need for close coordination among all concerned departments and agencies. He directed officials to remain vigilant and ensure adequate security, traffic management, emergency response and other necessary facilities along the route.

The DGP also called for proper deployment of personnel and effective communication mechanisms so that any situation arising during the yatra can be handled promptly.

Emphasising the safety and convenience of pilgrims, DGP Prabhat directed officers to make all necessary preparations in advance and ensure that the yatra passes off peacefully without inconvenience to devotees.

He further called upon the concerned officials to maintain close coordination throughout the pilgrimage and remain prepared to respond to any emergency.
