POONCH, AUGUST 22: Deputy Commissioner and District Collector Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma, today chaired a meeting of all concerned Collectors to deliberate upon and finalise land compensation rates for land being acquired for the construction of the Khanetar Coy OP Base by the General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF).

The Deputy Commissioner emphasised the need for a fair, transparent and uniform approach while assessing compensation rates, keeping in view statutory provisions and applicable guidelines.

He directed the concerned Collectors to thoroughly examine relevant revenue records, prevailing market rates and other applicable parameters to ensure that compensation is determined strictly in accordance with law.

Ashok Kumar Sharma further stressed the importance of close coordination among all concerned officers and directed them to ensure that the interests of affected landowners are duly protected while facilitating the timely execution of the strategically important project.

The meeting was attended by the concerned Collectors and other officers involved in the land acquisition and compensation process.
