The Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday paid solemn homage to 13 BSF mountaineers who made the supreme sacrifice during the Saser Kangri expedition in 1995.

The tribute was held at Phukpochey in Nubra Valley, Leh, Ladakh, marking the 31st anniversary of their sacrifice. Senior BSF personnel, troops and local residents remembered the brave mountaineers and paid their respects to their courage and devotion to duty.

As part of the commemorative event, the BSF also organised a Civic Action Programme and a medical camp to provide healthcare support to local residents. A community lunch was subsequently organised, fostering camaraderie and strengthening the bond between villagers and the troops.

The BSF reiterated its commitment to honouring the legacy of its brave personnel and strengthening its close ties with communities in the region.
