Bike Lifter Arrested by Samba Police; Stolen Motorcycle Recovered



Samba, August 1, 2026: Samba Police has solved a motorcycle theft case by arresting the accused involved in the crime and recovering the stolen motorcycle.
According to police, on July 21, 2026, a complaint was lodged at Police Station Samba by Laik Singh, son of Khazan Singh, a resident of Koulpur, Vijaypur, District Samba. The complainant reported that his motorcycle bearing registration number JK21D-8590, which had been parked outside the District Court Complex, Samba, was stolen by an unidentified person.
Following the complaint, FIR No. 217/2026 under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered, and an investigation was launched.
During the investigation, a police team from Police Station Samba, using technical surveillance and human intelligence, identified and apprehended the accused, Mohd Akram, son of Farooq Ahmed, a resident of Bhargi, Gandoh, District Doda, presently residing at Teli Basti, Bari Brahmana, District Samba.
During sustained questioning, the accused confessed to his involvement in the theft. Based on his disclosure, the stolen motorcycle was recovered from his possession.
Police said that further investigation is underway to ascertain whether the accused was involved in any other theft cases.
