Bakery Training Programme for Women SHG Members Inaugurated in Samba


Samba, August 18: A one-week Bakery and Confectionery Training Programme for women Self-Help Group (SHG) members associated with the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), District Samba, was inaugurated today at Satguru Bakery, SIDCO Phase-II, Samba.
The programme is being organised by the District Administration Samba through the Department of Social Welfare, Samba, under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative, in collaboration with the Food Craft Institute, Jammu, Department of Skill Development, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.

The training programme was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Samba, Ayushi Sudan, IAS, who appreciated the initiative aimed at providing women SHG members with practical and livelihood-oriented skills in bakery and confectionery.

The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of skill development in promoting women’s economic empowerment, self-reliance and entrepreneurship. She encouraged the participants to make the most of the hands-on training and explore opportunities for self-employment and sustainable livelihoods.

During the week-long programme, participants will receive practical training in various bakery and confectionery techniques. The initiative is expected to help women develop marketable skills and create opportunities for small-scale entrepreneurship and income generation.

The programme reflects the coordinated efforts of the District Administration Samba and partner institutions to strengthen women’s skills, promote economic participation and create sustainable livelihood opportunities under the BBBP initiative.
