Kathua, August 1, 2026: A valedictory function was organized today to mark the successful completion of the 10-day Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) on Mushroom Cultivation, conducted under the NABARD Micro Enterprise Development Programme at Village Drung, Block Manali, District Kathua.
The training programme was held from July 11 to July 22, 2026, and benefited 30 trainees, equipping them with practical knowledge and entrepreneurial skills in mushroom cultivation to promote self-employment and rural livelihood opportunities.
The Chief Guest, Sh. Nipun Sharma, District Development Manager (DDM), NABARD Kathua, distributed training certificates among the participants and appreciated their enthusiastic participation. He encouraged the trainees to utilize the knowledge gained during the programme to establish sustainable mushroom cultivation enterprises and contribute to rural economic development.
The programme was conducted in the presence of Sh. K.K. Bhardwaj, Managing Director, KYASC POPI Kathua, and Sh. Sanjay Kumar, Master Trainer, who congratulated the participants on successfully completing the training and motivated them to transform their skills into income-generating ventures.
Speaking on the occasion, the organizers emphasized that the MEDP initiative aims to strengthen entrepreneurship, enhance livelihoods, and create self-employment opportunities in rural areas through skill development and capacity building.
