Kishtwar, July 10, 2026: In a significant initiative to strengthen healthcare services in remote areas and support the vision of a TB-Free India, the District Administration Kishtwar, in collaboration with the Hans Foundation, organized a Mega Health Camp and Nikshay Shivir at Village Karthie in Sub-Division Paddar.
The health camp was conducted under the directions of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS) and the supervision of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kishtwar, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Bhat. The programme was implemented in coordination with the Hans Foundation Hospitals, a leading NGO working in the healthcare sector.
Block Medical Officer (BMO) Paddar, Dr. Krishan Singh Katoch, supervised the camp and ensured the smooth conduct of medical services. A team of healthcare professionals provided multi-specialty consultations, diagnostic screenings, free medicines, and medical advice to a large number of beneficiaries.
As part of the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, advanced mobile diagnostic facilities were deployed, enabling digital chest X-rays for 130 patients. Individuals showing symptoms of tuberculosis were identified and referred under the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) for further diagnosis and treatment.
The camp also included free eye screening, where patients diagnosed with cataracts were registered for cataract surgeries to be conducted by the Hans Foundation.
Hundreds of residents benefited from free health checkups, consultations, diagnostic services, and essential medicines. Health officials appreciated the continued support of the Hans Foundation, emphasizing that such collaborations play a crucial role in bringing quality healthcare services to remote regions and ensuring early detection and timely treatment of diseases.
