Samba, June 3: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Samba, Ms. Ayushi Sudan, IAS, chaired a meeting of the District Level Committee to finalize proposed projects and developmental works under Vibrant Village Programme-II at the DC Office, Samba.
During the meeting, officials conducted a detailed review of village-wise development plans prepared for 16 selected villages covered under the programme. The discussions focused on infrastructure development, enhancement of public services, and creation of sustainable livelihood opportunities aimed at improving the overall quality of life in border villages.
The DDC emphasized that all proposed work plans should be shared with the Visiting Officers nominated by the Jammu & Kashmir Government before the district-level plan is finalized. She said this would ensure that all stakeholders remain informed about the developmental priorities and transformation initiatives planned for the selected villages.
Ms. Sudan also directed officers from the Border Guarding Forces to identify and propose projects of strategic importance from a security perspective and submit them promptly for inclusion under the programme.
The meeting was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner, Chief Planning Officer, Superintending Engineer O&M Jammu-Samba, Executive Engineer PWD Samba, District Social Welfare Officer, Assistant Director Tourism, Principal ITI Samba, and other concerned officers.
The Vibrant Village Programme-II aims to accelerate the development of border villages by improving infrastructure, public services, connectivity, and livelihood opportunities, thereby fostering sustainable and inclusive growth in remote areas.
