Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Welcomes First Batch of Returning Hajj Pilgrims at Srinagar Airport



Srinagar, June 2, 2026:
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday welcomed the first batch of returning Hajj pilgrims at Srinagar International Airport, marking the commencement of return flights for Haj 2026 to Jammu & Kashmir.

The Chief Minister personally greeted the pilgrims upon their arrival and congratulated them on the successful completion of the sacred pilgrimage. He extended his best wishes and expressed hope that their prayers would contribute to peace, prosperity, and well-being in the region.

The arrival of the first batch marks the beginning of a series of scheduled flights that will bring thousands of pilgrims back to Jammu & Kashmir after performing Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

Several senior officials were present on the occasion, including Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, Additional Chief Secretary Dheeraj Gupta, Deputy Commissioner Budgam Athar Aamir Khan, and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Budgam.

The administration has made comprehensive arrangements at the airport to facilitate the smooth arrival of pilgrims. These include transportation facilities, baggage handling services, medical assistance, and other essential support measures to ensure a comfortable return journey.

Officials said all necessary arrangements have been put in place to manage the arrival of pilgrims efficiently during the ongoing return phase of Haj 2026.

The Chief Minister also interacted with several pilgrims and welcomed them back home, appreciating the efforts of the concerned departments involved in facilitating their safe and seamless return.
