Jammu, June 2, 2026:
The Director Census, Jammu & Kashmir, has announced that approximately 7 lakh households across the Union Territory have successfully completed the self-enumeration process for the upcoming Census 2027.

Officials described the response as encouraging, highlighting the growing participation of citizens in the digital self-enumeration initiative. The process allows households to submit census-related information online, making data collection more convenient and efficient.

The Census Department has urged remaining households to complete their self-enumeration within the stipulated timeline to ensure accurate and comprehensive population data for planning and development purposes.

According to officials, the successful participation of a large number of households reflects increasing public awareness and adoption of digital governance initiatives in Jammu & Kashmir.

The Census exercise plays a crucial role in gathering demographic, social, and economic data that assists governments in policy formulation, resource allocation, and developmental planning.

Authorities have appealed to all residents who have not yet completed the process to participate and contribute to the successful conduct of Census 2027.
