According to police, on May 18, 2026, Police Station Bari Brahmana received information regarding the murder of a woman identified as Anuradha, wife of Ajay Kumar and resident of Ward No. 07, Channi Kartholi, Tehsil Bari Brahmana. Her body was found inside her residence.

Following the incident, FIR No. 128/2026 under Section 103 BNS was registered and investigation was launched immediately.

During investigation, police conducted extensive enquiry, technical analysis, witness examination and verification of several leads. Based on technical evidence and generated inputs, a police team raided Village Bhagwan Chak in Khour area of Jammu district and detained one suspect identified as Chhail Singh, son of Gian Singh, resident of Bhagwan Chak.

Police said technical evidence confirmed that the accused was in constant contact with the deceased through phone calls. Investigation revealed that the accused and the deceased were allegedly involved in an illicit relationship, which had reportedly led to disputes between them.

As per police investigation, the accused visited the woman’s residence on the day of the incident and allegedly murdered her during an altercation.

The accused was formally arrested on May 20, 2026. Police further revealed that he is a retired Army personnel currently working with Reliance Security Services in Mumbai.

The weapon of offence used in the crime has also been recovered during investigation.

The case was solved by a dedicated team of Police Station Bari Brahmana led by SHO Bari Brahmana under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana and overall supervision of SSP Samba.
