Doda Police Recover ₹21.20 Lakh in Online Fraud Cases, Trace 74 Lost Smartphones

District Police Doda achieved a major success in combating cybercrime by recovering online defrauded money amounting to ₹21.20 lakh and tracing 74 lost smartphones worth ₹12.68 lakh from different States and Union Territories across the country.

According to the Police Media Cell Doda, the recovery was made by Cyber Police Station Doda under the supervision of SSP Doda Shri Kartik Shrotriya (IPS), Addl. SP Doda Shri Mohd Aslam (JKPS), and DySP Headquarters Doda Shri Krishan Rattan.
Police officials stated that several complaints regarding online financial frauds and missing mobile phones were received at Cyber Police Station Doda. Acting swiftly, the cyber team carried out sustained investigations and technical analysis, leading to the successful recovery of the defrauded amount and lost smartphones.

The investigation was led by Inspector Surinder Veer Singh, SHO Cyber Police Station Doda, along with PSI Harish Chander, Nodal Officer CEIR. Their technical expertise and dedicated efforts played a crucial role in solving the cases.
The recovered smartphones were later handed over to their rightful owners during a programme held at Conference Hall PCR Doda by Addl. SP Doda Shri Mohd Aslam. The beneficiaries expressed gratitude towards District Police Doda for recovering their valuable devices.

During the interaction, police officials advised the public to remain cautious while using online financial platforms and mobile phones. Citizens were urged to immediately report cyber frauds on the National Cyber Crime Helpline Number 1930 and report lost or stolen phones through the CEIR Portal for timely action.
Police also informed that Cyber Police Station Doda has so far recovered online defrauded money amounting to ₹85.04 lakh and traced 393 mobile phones worth approximately ₹62.48 lakh.
