Two-Day VIP Security Training Programme Begins at District Police Lines Kathua

Kathua, April 20, 2026: A two-day specialized training programme on VIP security commenced today at the District Police Lines (DPL) in Kathua, aimed at strengthening the preparedness and professional skills of police personnel assigned to high-profile security duties.
The programme was inaugurated by Mohita Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kathua, who emphasized the importance of precision, alertness, and efficiency in handling VIP security responsibilities.
Organized under the guidance of the Security Headquarters (SHQ), Jammu & Kashmir, the training module is designed to cover critical components of VIP security. These include access control, threat assessment, anti-sabotage measures, roles and responsibilities of Personal Security Officers (PSOs), escort duties, convoy movement, rescue planning, crowd management, and emergency response strategies.

The training programme witnessed active participation from senior officers including Additional SP Sunil Kesar (JKPS), Staff Officer SHQ Rakesh Kumar (JKPS), DySP Headquarters Ravinder Singh, DySP DAR Bhagwan Dass, DySP Basanti Bhat, DySP Devinder Singh, along with SHOs, Incharge Police Posts, PSOs, and other police personnel from across Kathua district.

Their presence reflects the strong commitment of J&K Police towards enhancing its overall security framework.
Experienced instructors from the Security Wing, known for their extensive field expertise, are conducting the sessions. The training integrates both theoretical knowledge and practical demonstrations to ensure comprehensive skill development among participants.

Addressing the gathering, SSP Kathua stressed the need for effectively applying the knowledge gained during the training in real-time situations. She encouraged all participants to make the most of such capacity-building initiatives to ensure robust and reliable VIP security arrangements across the district.
