Jammu, April 02, 2026:

Continuing its crackdown on illegal activities, Jammu (Rural) Police achieved a major success by apprehending six individuals involved in gambling in the Muthi/Bantalab area.

Acting on specific inputs, a police team carried out a swift raid at the identified location and caught the accused red-handed while gambling in a public place. During the operation, stake money amounting to ₹15,500 along with a deck of 52 playing cards was recovered from the spot and seized as per legal procedures.

All the accused have been booked under the relevant provisions of Section 13 of the Gambling Act, and further investigation into the matter is currently underway.

Jammu (Rural) Police reiterated its firm commitment to curb gambling and other unlawful activities in the region. Authorities have also issued a strict warning that anyone found involved in such illegal practices will face stern action as per the law.
