Samba, April 23, 2026:

The District Administration Samba has announced the conduct of a Civil Defence Air Raid/Blackout Mock Exercise in Samba town on April 24, 2026, at 8:30 PM.

The exercise is being carried out in coordination with various departments under the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

As per the official notice issued by the Deputy Commissioner Samba, the mock drill aims to strengthen emergency preparedness and response capabilities in case of any potential threat or disaster situation.

During the exercise, residents of Samba town are requested to switch off all lights, including inverter-backed power, from 8:30 PM to 8:35 PM as part of the blackout simulation.

Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and not panic, emphasizing that the drill is purely a preparedness activity. Citizens are also advised to avoid spreading or believing rumors and to cooperate fully with officials for the smooth execution of the exercise.

All concerned departments have been directed to strictly follow the prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure the success of the mock drill.

The administration highlighted that such exercises are conducted periodically to enhance readiness and public awareness in emergency scenarios.
