Samba, April 23, 2026: Continuing its strong action under the ongoing anti-drug campaign Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, Samba Police has successfully arrested three drug peddlers and recovered approximately 3.78 grams of heroin-like substance (commonly known as “Chitta”) from their possession.
According to officials, a police team from Police Station Vijaypur was conducting a routine vehicle checking naka on the link road towards Rakh Barotian, near the AIIMS residential complex in Vijaypur. During the operation, a scooty bearing registration number JK02DT-1246 was intercepted for checking.
Upon thorough inspection, the police recovered the contraband substance from the three individuals traveling on the scooty.
The accused have been identified as:
Rahul Sharma, son of Bodh Raj Sharma, resident of Kot Balwal, Jammu
Sanju Bhagat, son of Yash Paul, resident of Nai Basti, Jammu
Nirmal Kumar, son of Prittam Chand, resident of Kot Balwal, Jammu
All three have been taken into custody. The recovered narcotics along with the scooty have been seized by the police.
A case under FIR No. 64/2026 has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur under sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is currently underway.
Samba Police reiterated its commitment to eradicating drug menace from the region and urged citizens to cooperate in making society drug-free.
