In a significant development, the Office of the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Kargil, under the Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh, has issued a revised notification regarding the hiring of Urdu Language Teachers for the academic session 2026–27.

The new order (No. CEO-K/1597), dated April 11, 2026, replaces the earlier advertisement issued on March 17, 2026. The revision comes after receiving multiple representations from candidates who did not have Urdu as a subject in all semesters during graduation but possess a Master’s degree in Urdu along with B.Ed./CTET qualifications.

📌 Key Highlights of the Revised Criteria

Candidates with Post Graduation in Urdu will now be considered, even if Urdu was not studied in all semesters during graduation.

Selection will be based on a point-based merit system.

📊 Revised Merit Distribution

Graduation (Pro-rata basis): 48 points

Urdu in all semesters: 10 points

Post Graduation in Urdu: 10 points

B.Ed.: 10 points

CTET:

Paper I: 5 points

Paper II: 5 points

Both Papers: 10 points

NET/SET: 5 points

Teaching Experience:

1.4 points per year (maximum 5 years)

Total maximum: 7 points
