In a major step towards eliminating drug abuse, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today launched a historic mass movement for a Drug-Free Jammu & Kashmir from MA Stadium in Jammu.
Addressing the gathering, the LG emphasized that the campaign is not just a government initiative but a collective mission that will reach every village, town, city, and household across the Union Territory. He described drug abuse as a collective crisis that requires united action from society.
Highlighting the roadmap, Manoj Sinha stated that the next three months are crucial, with the campaign being implemented in six key phases:
Awareness drives
Youth-focused events
Community engagement
Strict enforcement
Rehabilitation measures
Continuous evaluation
He stressed the importance of a whole-of-government approach, ensuring coordination across departments to effectively tackle the drug menace.
The Lieutenant Governor called upon citizens to move beyond sympathy and actively participate in the movement, asserting that the fight against drugs is not limited to individuals or families but is a challenge for society as a whole.
With a strong message of unity and determination, he concluded that together, Jammu & Kashmir will defeat the scourge of drug abuse and build a healthier, safer future.
