In a continued crackdown on illegal activities, the Anantnag Police apprehended four individuals involved in gambling in the Anzwala area under the jurisdiction of Police Post General Bus Stand.

Acting on credible inputs, a police team conducted a raid at the specified location and successfully arrested the accused while they were engaged in gambling. During the operation, officials recovered 52 playing cards along with stake money amounting to ₹13,600 from their possession.

The arrested individuals have been identified as:

Shabir Ahmad Dar, resident of Kanelwan Bijbehara

Shabir Ahmad Teeli, resident of Sallar Pahalgam

Gh. Nabi Sheikh, resident of Sallar Pahalgam

Hafeezullah Bhat, resident of Kanelwan Bijbehara

Police have taken cognizance of the matter, and further investigation is currently underway.

The Anantnag Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order in the district and urged the public to cooperate by sharing information about any illegal activities in their areas.
