Drug Peddler Arrested in Samba with Heroin-Like Substance Under Nasha Mukt Abhiyan


Samba, April 22, 2026: Continuing its crackdown under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, Samba Police successfully apprehended a drug peddler and recovered a heroin-like substance from his possession.

According to officials, acting on credible inputs, a police team from Police Station Samba intercepted a motorcycle (Reg. No. JK21K-1087) that was travelling from Main Bazar Samba towards Palah Morh. During checking and frisking, the team recovered approximately 7.47 grams of heroin-like substance (commonly known as “chitta”) from the motorcyclist.

The accused has been identified as Paras Sharma, son of Suresh Kumar Sharma, a resident of Chak Manga, district Samba. He was immediately taken into custody. The recovered contraband along with the motorcycle has also been seized.
A case has been registered under relevant sections 8/21/22/25 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Samba, and further investigation is underway.

Police officials reiterated their commitment to eradicating the drug menace from society and urged citizens to cooperate by sharing information about illegal drug activities.
