Jammu, April 21, 2026: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today flagged off seven ambulances along with essential healthcare equipment from the Civil Secretariat in Jammu. The initiative has been launched under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program of Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation.
The move is aimed at strengthening emergency healthcare services across various districts of Jammu and Kashmir, with a special focus on improving access in remote and underserved areas. The deployment of these ambulances is expected to significantly enhance the region’s emergency response system and ensure timely medical assistance to those in need.
Health and Medical Education Minister Sakina Itoo was also present on the occasion, highlighting the government’s continued commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and services across the Union Territory.
Officials stated that such initiatives under CSR play a vital role in supplementing government efforts to provide quality healthcare and strengthen public health delivery systems.
