Kathua, March 28, 2026:

Continuing its strong crackdown against drug trafficking, Jammu & Kashmir Police Kathua achieved another major success by arresting two drug peddlers and recovering heroin-like narcotics from their possession.

Acting under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua Mohita Sharma (IPS), a police team from Police Station Kathua conducted a targeted operation based on reliable inputs.

🚔 Operation Details

On March 27, 2026, during routine patrolling in the Kathua area, a police team led by SHO Kathua Inspector Ashish Sharma, assisted by PSI Khem Raj and guided by senior officers including Addl. SP Rahul Charak (JKPS) and DySP Headquarters Ravinder Singh, intercepted two suspects traveling on a motorcycle (Reg. No. PB06AS-3963).

Upon checking, the suspects were identified as:

Naginder Singh, resident of Kathua

Rohit Singh, resident of Chambe Da Bagh, Kathua

💊 Seizure Details

During the search operation, police recovered:

Approximately 10.34 grams of heroin (chitta)

One motorcycle used in the crime

Both accused were arrested on the spot.

⚖️ Case Registered

A case has been registered under FIR No. 153/2026 at Police Station Kathua under relevant sections of the NDPS Act (8/21/22/29). Further investigation is underway.
