Samba Police Seize Illegally Cut and Stolen Khair Wooden Logs; Case Registered


Samba, March 20, 2026:
Samba Police have seized a large quantity of illegally cut and stolen Khair wooden logs from the Beli Goran area, which falls under the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba.

According to official sources, Police Post Goran of PS Samba received specific information from reliable sources indicating that certain individuals—Swarn Singh (son of Baldev Singh), Joginder Singh (son of Rashpal Singh), Davinder Singh alias Tiku (son of Balwan Singh), along with others, all residents of village Beli, Tehsil and District Samba—were involved in the illegal cutting and theft of Khair wooden logs (mochajaat). 

The accused had reportedly dumped the logs near the Government Primary School, Beli.
Acting swiftly on the information, a police team reached the spot and successfully seized the Khair wooden logs.

In this connection, a case FIR No. 68/2026 has been registered at Police Station Samba under relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 303(2) and Section 26 of the Indian Forest Act. Further investigation into the matter has been initiated.

Police have reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against illegal activities related to forest resources and environmental violations.
