Samba Police Arrest Two Drug Peddlers with 10.72 Grams Heroin-like Substance


Samba, March 05, 2026: Continuing its crackdown against drug trafficking, Samba Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered approximately 10.72 grams of heroin-like substance (commonly known as Chitta) during a checking operation in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vijaypur.
According to police officials, a team from PS Vijaypur was conducting a vehicle checking naka at NHW near AIIMS Vijaypur when they intercepted a Mahindra Scorpio (Registration No. JK02AB-0002) coming from Samba towards Vijaypur.
During the search of the vehicle, the police recovered around 10.72 grams of heroin-like substance from the possession of the two occupants travelling in the vehicle.
The accused have been identified as Rafiq Ahmed, son of Abdul Farooq, resident of Ragoora district Jammu, and Ali, son of Mohd Din, resident of Lower Ragoora district Jammu. Both individuals were immediately arrested by the police.
The recovered contraband along with the vehicle used in the crime has been seized by the police.
A case FIR No. 40/2026 under sections 8/21/22/25 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur, and further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
Police officials reiterated their commitment to strictly curb drug trafficking and protect youth from the menace of drugs in the region.
