Continuing its crackdown against drug trafficking, Samba Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered approximately 5 grams of heroin (chitta)-like substance from his possession in the Bari Brahmana area.

According to officials, a police team from Police Station Bari Brahmana was conducting routine vehicle checking at a naka near JDA Colony Bari Brahmana when they intercepted a pedestrian moving under suspicious circumstances. During frisking, the police recovered the contraband substance from the individual.

The accused has been identified as Hassan Khokher, son of Sham Lal, a resident of Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. He has been taken into custody, and the seized substance has been confiscated.

A case under FIR No. 88/2026 has been registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway.

Police officials reiterated their commitment to eliminating drug menace from the region and urged the public to cooperate in maintaining a drug-free society.
