Sakina Itoo Thanks Union Education Minister for Extending NEET-UG 2026 Application Deadline

Srinagar | March 8, 2026
Jammu and Kashmir’s Minister for School Education and Higher Education, Sakina Itoo, has expressed her gratitude to the Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, for extending the deadline for submitting NEET-UG 2026 application forms.
The Union Education Ministry extended the last date for submission of the NEET-UG 2026 application forms by three days, allowing candidates to apply until 11 March 2026.
Sakina Itoo thanked the Union Minister for promptly responding to the request made by the Jammu and Kashmir government regarding the difficulties faced by students in the Kashmir Valley.
According to the minister, many students in the region were facing challenges in completing their online application process due to internet speed limitations and connectivity issues in several areas.
She stated that the extension of the application deadline will provide relief to thousands of aspiring medical students who were worried about missing the opportunity to apply for the national level entrance examination.
Sakina Itoo further said that the decision reflects the Union Government’s sensitivity towards the concerns of students and ensures that no deserving candidate is deprived of the chance to appear in NEET-UG 2026.
The minister also encouraged students to complete their applications well before the revised deadline and wished them success in their preparations for the medical entrance examination.
The NEET-UG examination is one of the most important entrance tests for students seeking admission to MBBS, BDS and other medical courses across India.
