Pakistan Expresses Security Concerns Amid Iran–Israel–US Tensions

Islamabad: Pakistan has expressed growing security concerns following escalating tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States in the Middle East.
Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif stated that developments in the region could have serious implications for Pakistan’s security. He warned that if Israel gains strategic advantage in the conflict, a potential alignment involving India, Afghanistan, and Iran could emerge against Pakistan.
Speaking about the regional situation, Asif said Pakistan could face security challenges if it becomes surrounded by hostile powers. Pakistan shares a border of more than 900 kilometers with Iran, particularly along the Balochistan province, which has long experienced security and insurgency issues.
The minister also claimed that Pakistan is already facing serious tensions with Afghanistan’s Taliban-led government and referred to the recent military confrontation with India in May 2025, which lasted four days.
In a post on social media platform X, Khawaja Asif alleged that Zionist influence has played a role in several conflicts affecting the Muslim world since the creation of Israel in 1948. He further claimed that major global powers are influenced by Zionist ideology and that it continues to shape international economic and political dynamics.
The statements come at a time when the Middle East crisis is raising concerns about wider regional instability and its potential impact on South Asia.
