Udhampur: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Udhampur Police has detained a habitual drug peddler under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act.
According to officials, the detention order was executed against Sujad Ahmed alias Kaka, son of Abdul Rashid, a resident of Jakhani, Udhampur. The warrant, issued by the competent authority, was carried out by Udhampur Police on Thursday.
Following the execution of the detention order, the accused has been lodged in District Jail Bhaderwah.
Police stated that Sujad Ahmed was a habitual offender involved in narcotics-related activities in the district, and his continued involvement in drug trafficking posed a serious threat to public health and safety, particularly among the youth.
Udhampur Police reiterated its firm commitment to eliminating drug trafficking and ensuring a safe and drug-free society in the district.
