J&K Govt Constitutes Committee for Implementation of PM Rahat Scheme


Jammu, March 23, 2026:
The General Administration Department Jammu and Kashmir has issued an order for the constitution of a high-level committee to facilitate the implementation of the PM Rahat Scheme in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the government order, the committee will be chaired by the Administrative Secretary, Home Department, and will include senior officials from key departments such as Health & Medical Education, Transport, and Police. Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir, along with senior police officials including Inspectors General of Police, will also be part of the committee.

📌 Key Objectives of the Committee:
To assist the Jammu & Kashmir Road Safety Council in implementing the PM Rahat Scheme.
To ensure coordination among Transport, Health, Police, and other concerned departments.
To review healthcare infrastructure, including hospitals and trauma care centers, for providing cashless treatment to road accident victims.
To monitor accident reporting, victim treatment, and claim processing systems.
To review the progress of the scheme and recommend corrective measures.
To ensure timely settlement of claims through the designated mechanism.
To strengthen emergency care systems for road accident victims.

The order, issued by Commissioner/Secretary M. Raju (IAS), aims to streamline coordination and improve the effectiveness of the scheme in providing timely assistance and healthcare support to accident victims.
