India Faces LPG Supply Disruption Amid Middle East Conflict

New Delhi, March 17: India is facing disruptions in the supply of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) due to escalating tensions in the Middle East following the Iran–Israel conflict. The conflict has affected shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil and gas transit points.

According to industry sources, the disruption in maritime transport has slowed the movement of LPG cargoes to India, leading to supply challenges in the domestic market. Reports indicate that LPG sales in India have declined by nearly 17% during the first half of March compared to the previous period.

Energy experts warn that prolonged instability in the region could further impact fuel supplies and increase energy prices globally. The Indian government and oil marketing companies are closely monitoring the situation to ensure adequate supply and minimize the impact on consumers.

The Strait of Hormuz handles a significant portion of the world’s energy shipments, and any disruption in this route can directly influence global energy markets and supply chains.
