Hundreds Feared Dead After Alleged Airstrike on Kabul Hospital; Pakistan Denies Involvement

Kabul, March 2026:
At least 400 people are reported dead and around 250 injured following an alleged airstrike on a hospital in Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, according to a Taliban spokesperson.

The strike reportedly targeted a drug rehabilitation hospital at approximately 9:00 PM local time, as confirmed by Afghanistan’s Deputy Government Spokesperson Hamdullah Fitrat. The incident has triggered widespread shock and condemnation amid escalating regional tensions.

Afghanistan government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid strongly condemned the attack, accusing Pakistan of “targeting hospitals and civilian sites to perpetrate horrors.” He described the incident as a serious violation of international humanitarian norms and called for global attention to the situation.

However, Pakistan has firmly denied the allegations, calling them “baseless” and stating that no such operation targeting a hospital in Kabul was carried out by its forces. Pakistani officials rejected the claims and urged against spreading misinformation.

The conflicting statements from both sides have raised concerns over the true nature of the incident, with no independent verification yet available. Meanwhile, emergency services and local authorities are continuing rescue operations, with fears that the death toll may rise further.
The international community is expected to closely monitor developments, as tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan appear to be escalating following the incident.
