Doda, March 23, 2026:
The District Administration Doda on Monday kick-started a special week-long celebration to mark 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’ at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex, Doda. The programme reflected strong patriotic fervour and paid tribute to the historic significance of the national song in India’s freedom struggle.
The event featured a short film screening highlighting the legacy of ‘Vande Mataram’, followed by a soulful rendition of the song by students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Doda. The performances filled the atmosphere with pride, unity, and deep respect for the nation.
District Development Council (DDC) Chairman, Sh. Krishan Lal, along with Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Sh. Roshan Lal and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sh. Anil Kumar Thakur, paid rich tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence.
Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries urged the youth to uphold the spirit of patriotism, actively contribute to nation-building, and work collectively towards creating a drug-free society.
The celebrations, scheduled from March 23 to March 30, aim to honor the sacrifices of freedom fighters and inspire citizens to carry forward their legacy with dedication and unity.
