Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited Badamwari Garden in Srinagar today to inaugurate the Almond Blossom Festival, celebrating the arrival of spring in Kashmir.
The festival marks the blooming of almond flowers, which is considered one of the earliest signs of spring in the Valley and attracts tourists and locals alike to the historic Badamwari garden.
During his visit, the Chief Minister also interacted with local artisans, flower growers and exhibitors who had set up stalls showcasing traditional crafts, horticulture products and local specialties.
Omar Abdullah appreciated their efforts in promoting tourism, local handicrafts and horticulture, stating that such festivals play an important role in highlighting Kashmir’s cultural heritage and boosting the region’s economy.
He emphasized that the government is committed to supporting initiatives that encourage tourism development, artisan welfare and sustainable horticulture in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Almond Blossom Festival is expected to draw a large number of visitors and tourists, offering a vibrant display of blooming almond trees, cultural activities and local products.
