Jammu, March 9: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday chaired a high-level review meeting of the Power Development Department (PDD) at the Civil Secretariat in Jammu to assess measures aimed at providing relief to the public and improving electricity services across the region.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure a reliable and uninterrupted power supply to consumers. He emphasized the need for prompt action in addressing public grievances related to electricity supply, particularly during peak demand periods.
Omar Abdullah instructed the department to strengthen service delivery mechanisms and improve coordination among field officials so that power-related issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.
He also stressed the importance of accountability and transparency in the functioning of the department, urging officers to remain responsive to the concerns of the public.
Senior officials of the Power Development Department attended the meeting and presented updates on ongoing projects, power supply management, and measures being taken to enhance electricity distribution across Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the government remains committed to improving essential services and ensuring relief for the people through better infrastructure and responsive governance.
