In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Budgam Police arrested a drug peddler in the Chadoora area and recovered a large quantity of contraband substance from his possession.
According to official sources, acting on specific intelligence inputs, Police Station Chadoora received information about an individual involved in drug peddling activities. The accused, identified as Mohammad Hashim Raina, a resident of Hasipora Chadoora, had allegedly stored contraband at his saw machine unit in village Kaisarmullah for distribution among local youth.
A police team led by HC Javid Ahmad, along with an Executive Magistrate, conducted a swift raid at the location. During the search operation, approximately 9.940 kilograms of charas-like substance was recovered.
The accused was arrested on the spot, and the recovered contraband was seized following all legal formalities.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 35/2026 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Chadoora. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
Budgam Police has urged the general public to cooperate in the fight against drug abuse by sharing any information related to illegal drug activities.
