A new 8th Pay Commission Salary Calculator 2026 has been introduced online to help government employees estimate their expected salary under the upcoming pay commission reforms. The calculator allows users to check their new basic pay, dearness allowance (DA), house rent allowance (HRA), and estimated gross monthly salary based on projected fitment factors.
According to the calculator interface, users can enter their 7th Pay Commission pay level, current basic pay, DA percentage, and city HRA category to estimate their revised salary under the proposed 8th Pay Commission structure.
The calculator also provides options to select different fitment factors such as 1.92, 2.28, and 2.57, which are currently being discussed in relation to the implementation of the next pay commission.
For example, a government employee with a 7th Pay basic salary of ₹45,000 could see their 8th Pay basic salary increase to around ₹1,02,600, depending on the fitment factor applied. This may significantly increase the gross monthly salary, including allowances.
The tool is designed as a reference calculator to give employees a general idea of how their salaries might change if the 8th Pay Commission recommendations are implemented in the coming years.
However, experts clarify that these calculations are only projections and the Government of India has not yet officially announced the final structure or implementation date of the 8th Pay Commission.
