Betting big on tourism as a powerful driver of employment, the Finance Minister has outlined a comprehensive strategy to create millions of jobs for the youth through the tourism and hospitality sector.
Key Announcements
Professional Guide Training
To improve visitor experience and generate employment, the government will professionally train 10,000 new tourist guides across the country.
Targeted Skilling in Hospitality
Special intensive hospitality management and skill-development programs will be launched for young people, preparing them for careers in hotels, travel services, and allied sectors.
Boost to Entrepreneurship
To encourage self-employment, Mudra loans will be extended to support local homestays, eco-tourism ventures, and small tourism businesses, especially in rural and semi-urban areas.
Development of Key Destinations
The Centre, in partnership with state governments, will develop 50 top tourist destinations with a focus on infrastructure, connectivity, and local job creation, helping boost regional economies.
