Continuing its intensified crackdown on drug smuggling, Samba Police arrested a drug peddler within the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba and recovered approximately 5.48 grams of heroin-like substance (chitta) from his possession.
Acting on specific inputs received from reliable sources, a police team established a special naka near Shamshan Ghat, Bhargava College, Samba. During the operation, a scooty bearing registration number JK21F-1891, travelling from Vijaypur towards Samba, was intercepted. Upon checking, the contraband was recovered from the rider.
The accused has been identified as Abhishek Attri, son of Dayal Prashad, resident of Samba. He was taken into custody, while the recovered contraband and the scooty used in the commission of the offence were seized on the spot.
In this connection, FIR No. 41/2025 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Samba, and further investigation is underway.
Police have reiterated their commitment to maintaining zero tolerance against drug trafficking and urged citizens to cooperate by sharing information to help curb the menace.
