Srinagar, February 25:
The Minister for Education, Health and Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo, has clarified the government’s stance regarding the implementation of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking to media persons, the Minister stated that this is not the appropriate time to introduce or implement the TET requirement in the Union Territory. She emphasized that the government is carefully examining the overall situation and concerns raised by various stakeholders.
Sakina Itoo assured that the government remains committed to strengthening the education sector while safeguarding the interests of teachers and aspirants. She added that any decision regarding TET will be taken after thorough consultation and keeping in view the larger interest of the students and the education system.
The Minister’s statement comes amid ongoing discussions and concerns among teaching communities regarding the future course of action on TET in Jammu and Kashmir.
