Srinagar, February 17: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Hon’ble Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, and the Hon’ble Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh attended the Regional Workshop on Tele-Law held at Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), Srinagar.
The workshop highlighted the transformative role of technology-enabled legal services in ensuring affordable, efficient, and timely access to justice, especially for citizens living in remote and underserved areas of Jammu & Kashmir.
Technology Strengthening Grassroots Justice
During the event, the dignitaries emphasized that initiatives like Tele-Law are strengthening grassroots justice delivery. The platform allows citizens to seek legal advice digitally, reducing the burden of litigation and making legal support more accessible.
The initiative reaffirms the Government’s commitment to citizen-centric, transparent, and inclusive governance.
Focus on Remote & Underserved Areas
The Tele-Law programme plays a crucial role in providing legal consultation to people in far-flung regions without requiring them to travel long distances. By leveraging digital infrastructure, the justice system is becoming more affordable and efficient.
