LG Manoj Sinha Attends Innovathon 1.0 at University of Jammu, Orders Reopening of Tourist Spots in J&K
Jammu, February 17: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the valedictory function of Innovathon 1.0, a 48-hour national-level Hackathon organised by the University of Jammu to promote innovation, encourage technology-driven solutions, and strengthen the entrepreneurial mindset among youth.
The event witnessed participation from young innovators, researchers, and students from across the country who presented cutting-edge ideas and solutions aimed at addressing real-world challenges. The Hackathon served as a platform for budding entrepreneurs to showcase their creativity and technical expertise.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor praised the enthusiasm and talent of the youth, stating that the young generation is not merely witnessing the future unfold but actively shaping it.
“The youth of India today are not watching the future unfold from the sidelines; they are the architects, the builders, and the designers of what comes next. The pathbreaking innovations and fresh ideas, supported by cutting-edge research, possess the power to alter our nation’s destiny.”
He emphasized that innovation and research-driven initiatives are essential for achieving sustainable growth and making India a global leader in technology and entrepreneurship.
Reopening of Tourist Spots Announced
During his address, LG Manoj Sinha also announced that, following a comprehensive security review and detailed discussions, he has ordered the reopening of more tourist destinations across Kashmir and Jammu Divisions. These locations had been temporarily closed as precautionary measures.
The decision is expected to provide a significant boost to tourism in the Union Territory and restore confidence among visitors and stakeholders associated with the tourism industry.
Officials stated that reopening the tourist spots will help revive economic activity and further strengthen Jammu and Kashmir’s position as a premier travel destination.
