Kishtwar, February 20, 2026:
In a significant boost to the sports sector of District Kishtwar, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports (YSS) Jammu, Smt. Vinakshi Koul (JKAS), paid an official visit to the office of the District Youth Services & Sports Officer (DYSSO) Kishtwar to review ongoing activities and assess overall performance.
During the visit, the Joint Director held a detailed interaction with District Youth Services & Sports Officer Sh. Jaffer Haider Sheikh and other officials of YSS Kishtwar. She conducted a comprehensive review of administrative functioning, implementation of sports programmes, maintenance of official records, and the execution of grassroots-level sports initiatives across the district.
Emphasizing youth participation and digital engagement, Smt. Koul directed officials to ensure maximum registration of young individuals on the My Bharat Portal and the Youth Engagement Portal. She highlighted that proper registration and systematic data management would enhance youth outreach, strengthen planning mechanisms, and ensure transparency in programme implementation.
The Joint Director also underscored the importance of developing and upgrading playfields and sports infrastructure throughout the district. She instructed concerned officials to identify potential areas requiring improvement and to ensure proper maintenance of playgrounds to provide quality facilities for budding sportspersons.
Appreciating the dedicated efforts of the district team, she encouraged officials to continue working with renewed commitment to promote a vibrant sports culture at the grassroots level. She lauded the initiatives undertaken by YSS Kishtwar in actively engaging youth through structured sports activities and community-based programmes.
The visit is expected to further strengthen sports development initiatives and enhance youth participation in District Kishtwar.
