Jammu Rural Police Nab Drug Peddler with Heroin During Routine Patrolling in Gajansoo
Jammu, February 26, 2026: Jammu (Rural) Police achieved a significant success by apprehending a notorious drug peddler during routine patrolling in the Gajansoo area.
On 26.02.2026, a police party from BPP Gajansoo under Police Station Kanachak, while on routine patrolling duty, apprehended one person identified as Tara Chand, son of Jagan Nath, resident of Dhyateral, on the Gajansoo road towards Chinore Farms.
Heroin and Other Materials Recovered
During the search operation, approximately 8.03 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession. The police also seized a weighing machine, foil paper, lighters, and a pair of scissors, indicating involvement in drug distribution activities.
Case Registered Under NDPS Act
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 26/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kanachak. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
