In a continued crackdown against drug trafficking, Jammu (Rural) Police on Friday arrested a drug peddler and recovered 10.15 grams of heroin-like substance along with a weighing machine during a checking operation at the Floura Nagbani area of Domana.
The operation was carried out on specific inputs by a police team of Police Station Domana, led by the Station House Officer (SHO) and Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Domana.
The arrested accused has been identified as Basharat Ali alias Vishu, son of Abdul Rashid, a resident of Halka Marh, Jammu.
In this regard, FIR No. 32/2026 under Sections 8, 21 and 22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Domana. The accused has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway.
Police officials stated that efforts are being made to trace both forward and backward linkages of the seized drug network to identify other individuals involved in the illegal trade.
It is noteworthy that this is the third FIR registered against drug peddlers at Police Station Domana within a week, highlighting the sustained and intensified drive by Jammu (Rural) Police to curb drug menace in the region.
