Shimla: In a significant step towards supporting the families of defence personnel, the Indian Army has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mata Bhakti Devi Welfare Society (MBDWS) and Shiv Kumar Dogra Coaching Institute (SKD Coaching Institute), Shimla.
Under the agreement, the coaching institute will provide reservation of seats and fee concessions for the wards of Army personnel, including:
Children of personnel who died in harness
Wards of serving Army personnel
Wards of retired Army personnel
The initiative aims to expand educational opportunities and ensure access to quality coaching and academic support for the children of soldiers. Officials stated that the partnership reflects a shared commitment to honour the sacrifices made by Army personnel by empowering their families through education.
The MoU is expected to benefit numerous families by reducing financial burdens and enhancing access to competitive exam preparation and academic advancement.
