DTFI Meeting Held in Samba to Review Preparedness for National HPV Vaccination Campaign
Samba: A meeting of the District Task Force on Immunization (DTFI) was convened today under the chairpersonship of Ms. Ayushi Sudan, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Samba, to review intersectoral preparedness for the launch of the National HPV Vaccination Campaign aimed at prevention of cervical cancer.
At the outset, the Chief Medical Officer, Samba, Dr. Vidhi Bhatia delivered the welcome address and emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among various departments to ensure successful implementation of the campaign.
Subsequently, the District Immunization Officer, Samba, Dr. Kamlesh Kumari presented a detailed overview of the campaign, outlining its objectives, operational strategy, and target population.
Target Group for Vaccination
The National HPV Vaccination Campaign aims to vaccinate girls who have attained the age of 14 years but have not yet reached 15 years. The initiative seeks to provide timely protection against cervical cancer through the administration of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.
Focus on Coordination and Monitoring
During the meeting, special emphasis was laid on effective interdepartmental coordination, awareness generation, micro-planning, logistics management, and robust monitoring mechanisms to ensure the smooth rollout of the campaign across the district.
The Deputy Commissioner underscored the importance of collective responsibility and directed all concerned departments to extend full cooperation for the successful and timely execution of the vaccination drive.
The meeting was attended by senior officers from the Health Department and other line departments concerned.
