Ganderbal, February 24: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today handed over sanction letters to beneficiaries under Mission YUVA during his visit to Ganderbal district, providing financial assistance amounting to ₹55 lakh to promote self-employment and livelihood opportunities among the youth.
The initiative aims to empower young entrepreneurs by supporting start-ups, small businesses, and innovative ventures, thereby generating sustainable employment across the district.
The sanctioned amount will help beneficiaries establish and expand their enterprises in various sectors, contributing to economic growth at the grassroots level.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to youth empowerment and inclusive development. He stated that Mission YUVA has been designed to nurture entrepreneurial talent, reduce unemployment, and encourage self-reliance among young people.
He highlighted that the government is focused on creating an enabling ecosystem where youth can access financial assistance, skill development, and institutional support to transform their ideas into viable businesses.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the government for the timely support, stating that the assistance would significantly strengthen their livelihood prospects.
Senior officials of the district administration and representatives from concerned departments were present during the distribution ceremony.
The move reflects the government’s continued efforts to boost entrepreneurship and create meaningful employment opportunities for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
