BREAKING: Three Detainees, Including Two Pakistani Nationals, Escape from RS Pura Juvenile Home — Two Policemen Injured

JAMMU, India — February 16, 2026 — In a serious security breach on Monday evening, three detainees — including two Pakistani nationals — escaped from the Juvenile Observation Home in the RS Pura area of Jammu district after allegedly assaulting police personnel on duty, officials said.

According to police sources, the incident occurred at approximately 5:05 pm when the three boys attacked the on-duty guards and fled from the facility.

The escapees have been identified as:
Ahsan Anwar, son of Mohammad Anwar, resident of Nankana Sahib, Punjab, Pakistan;
Mohammad Sanaullah, son of Mohammad Zaffer, resident of Basti Jawewala, Tehsil Dinpur (Muzaffarabad), Punjab, Pakistan; and
Karanjit Singh alias Gugga, son of Arjun Singh, resident of Dablehar, RS Pura, Jammu.

During the escape, two police personnel — SPO Vinay Kumar and Head Constable Parveen Kumar — sustained injuries in the assault and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

In response to the breakout, Jammu Police have launched a large-scale manhunt to track down the fugitives. Special teams are conducting searches in and around the RS Pura area and along routes leading toward Samba and the national highway, officials said.

Police have taken cognizance of the event and begun further investigations into how the detainees managed to overpower guards and escape. Security checkpoints have been set up along key roads, and commuters’ identities are being verified as part of the ongoing operation.

At this stage, authorities have not publicly confirmed any links between the Pakistani nationals and militant groups or criminal gangs. An official police statement indicated that preliminary information suggests that the two Pakistani boys inadvertently crossed into India before being apprehended and placed in the juvenile facility.

The escape has raised concerns about security protocols at juvenile detention centers and prompted calls for a detailed review of procedures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
