Jammu, January 24, 2026:
Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking and narcotics abuse, Jammu Police achieved a major breakthrough by arresting two drug peddlers from the Bishnah area of Jammu.
The arrests were made in connection with FIR No. 15/2026, registered at Police Station Bishnah under Sections 8, 21, 22, 25 and 29 of the NDPS Act. Acting on specific inputs, the police team intensified surveillance and mounted a targeted operation in the area.
During the operation, a police team led by SHO Police Station Bishnah, Inspector Rakesh Jamwal, intercepted an Innova vehicle (Registration No. PBDT-8788). Upon conducting a thorough search of the occupants, the team recovered approximately 15 grams of heroin (Chitta) and 20 Pologesic capsules.
The arrested accused have been identified as Sunil Kumar, son of Chaman Lal, and Ajay Kumar, son of Sat Pal, both residents of Deoli, Bishnah. The recovered contraband, along with the vehicle used in the commission of the crime, has been seized as per legal procedure.
Both accused have been taken into police custody. Further investigation is underway to trace the forward and backward linkages of the narcotics supply chain.
Jammu Police reiterated its firm commitment to maintaining a drug-free society and appealed to the general public to cooperate by sharing credible information related to drug trafficking and other criminal activities.
